Texas State Fair 2009

Saturday morning Dean and I went to the State Fair. We got there right as it opened at 10 and headed straight to the Texas Star ferris wheel. We only had to wait 10 min to get on but by the time we got off the line was over an hour wait.

The weather was great from 10- 12, cool breeze in the 70's, it was very enjoyable. After noon it started warming up so we did all of the indoor exhibits and car shows. We had a Fletcher's corn dog, smoked BBQ turkey leg, Chicken Fried bacon and a Strawberry chill.... a pregnant woman's food heaven. Dean got to touch the Heisman Trophy (disclosure: the photographer definitely didn't work for Sports Illustrated, Dean was caught a little off guard.)

We left around 2 as it started warming up outside and came home for a quick nap and college football. Did I mention that we took Dexter to the Dog Lofts for the weekend? We had a nice evening pup free! We went on a late night date to Patrizio's in Highland Village, and did a little shopping around the square.

This morning has been nice without Dexy, we got to sleep until 7:30.... woo hoo and extra hour of sleep. Now we're having our coffee and reading the paper, no interruptions. We still love our puppy and miss him, I guess he is great practice for what is soon to come. It's just nice to have a little break.
